Chef/Owner: David Jackman David was born the umpteenth great-grandchild of Russian immigrants on a small island, just outside of Central Park. When David was little, the island was a dangerous place. So he tried protecting himself by sculpting masks out of papier-mache` and giving them huge noses and furrowed brows. Unfortunately, their decorations of rhinestones, feathers, pretty marbles and other nice things detracted from their frightening effect. Useless masks! What to do? Escape to Venice, Italy and sell his masks while learning the art of italian cooking! So David took his masks out of harm's way, to a castle about two hours from the Venetian lagoon. In the following seven years, David learned the art of cooking with garlic and gorgonzola, which proved more effective towards just about any thing at all. After selling his 147 masks, David migrated to the west coast of California, where he settled not far from The Big Dipper, and continued his endeavors into the wee hours of the night...
